For increased wear life, Xtend-a-LifeTM overlay plate is first
plug-welded and then welded securely to the adapters. End Bumpers are hard-surfaced and welded to adapter ends for protection from
drift wall rub.

System 2000TM Wear Strips
When wear is apparent on the face of the System 2000TM adapter, wear strips should be installed to prolong adapter life. Boundary's
Xtend-a-LifeTM wear strips come in convenient three and four foot strips that are 2.5-inches wide. They are easily welded to the
adapter face using the following weld procedure.
Attaching Xtend-a-LifeTM Strips to System 2000TM Adapters
Place the Xtend-a-LifeTM wear strips on the face of the adapter and preheat the assembly to 200°F peripheral
Weld in place using E7018 weld rod or equivalent wire
Weld plug-weld holes with E7018 rod or equivalent wire
Cap leading edge of Xtend-a-LifeTM wear strip
Recommended: Masterwire AR1 weld rod, available exclusively at Boundary. Also cap plug-weld holes with Boundary's Masterwire AR1
