Alloy Content
Fine grain nickel manganese alloy offers extreme hardness as well as tensile strength. Inside hardness is at approximately 51 RHC.

Case Hardness
Outside hardness is at 63 RHC with a 0.06% depth. Most twist-link carbon chains have a RHC of 53 with a 0.03% depth of hardness.

Link Design
Offers superior traction over twist-link designs because there is more chain in contact with the road surface, with more "leading" edges to grip snow and ice. The square design wears more evenly, unlike the twist-link that wears only on the high-points - where the torque is concentrated.

Reversible
The square link allows you to reverse the chain and wear it on the reverse side. Because of the high tensile strength, you can wear one side down, reverse it, and have the wear and strength of another chain.
